Cemeteries and Burials

Family historians and other researchers will find an invaluable resource in our Archives and other material.

Cemetery files are in BACSA’s archive in the British Library where you can find the information we have gathered about cemeteries, burials and inscriptions, and much else.

Burials information is available on our Burials database, which includes both published and unpublished information. We are currently in the process of moving our burials data over to a new Burials App. All new data is being uploaded to the burials app, but in the meantime all past data can still be searched in the burials database until the move is completed.

Areas we cover. These are chiefly within South Asia, but our remit is wider, extending to the places where the East India Company was historically engaged, ranging from Aden in the west, Macao in the east and Indonesia in the south.
