BACSA members are cordially invited to the opening of Extraordinary Endeavours, the Royal Asiatic Society’s Bicentenary exhibition ‘Celebrating 200 years of Communication, Collaboration and Dissemination’, on Wednesday 11th October 2023 (6:00pm – 8:30pm), at The Brunei Gallery, SOAS, Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square WC1B 5DQ.
The exhibition, which will run until December, tells the story of ‘the development of Asian Studies in Britain as revealed through the Society’s collections, and the scholarly achievements of its members and their associates’. (Note that the RAS’s definition of ‘Asia’ includes ‘the Islamic world, stretching across Asia to China and Japan’).
